ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Raymond Peres,
was born in France on 8/15/1914. He is the fourth generation in a line
of artists and the third generation to attend L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in
Bordeaux. He came to the US and attended the McDowell School of Fashion
Design in New York City.
He eventually found a medium that afforded him great opportunity and satisfaction
in the field of
hand decorated glassware. He established
Fine Art Glass, Inc. and created designs that ranged from elegant dinner
table accessories to the unique for the bath. One of his fine glassware
creations was purchased by the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor.
Not content with retirement, he became the creative designer for a
large national lamp manufacturer, spending his free time creating oil
paintings and decorative masks.
Now in retirement, he has found his true passion in creating these
unique and delicate Carousel Horses. His work was featured
in a special Long Island News 12 segment which created a wave of very
rewarding public response.
