The Mehndi Party

Traditionally Mehndi Has been used during times of celebration.  Women adorn themselves with henna several days before religious and cultural occasions.  Mehndi is most well known in its use by brides on the occasion of their wedding.  The Bride is adorned several days ahead of the actual ceremony in an elaborate gathering of  her women friends and family members.  She sits as royalty receiving mehndi designs on hands and feet, as the women pamper and cater to all her needs.

Today, women are still gathering to adorn the bride and Mehndis subtle charm is ever present and magical.  However, many western women are becoming aware of the magic of this artistic medium and are choosing as part of their cermony.   Bridal showers are now inviting henna artists to adorn the bride as well as her bridal party.  Music is played the party starts and the magic of mehndi fills the air.  The darker the henna color revealed, the deeper the love...it becomes part of the wedding, and the charm of the design is a blessing for the women, as well as a wonder of beauty for the groom to behold.  A married man beholds his brides mehndi forever.

Halloween, Valentines Birthdays and the Summertime are all great reasons to host a henna party...males and females, boys and girls all love henna...and the discovery of what their designs will be.
